Milan Exploration! Another thing that I thought was interesting was Milan Exploration. Milan was founded in 222 B.C. by the Romans. The Romans conquered the land and named it Mediolanum. That means “emidst the plain” which is referring to its flatlands of Lombardy. Throughout the Middle Ages, it flourished as a major stop through the trade route across the Alps.
